Most authors will tell you their favorite two words are, “The end.” But personally, I find “Chapter 1” equally exciting. Both having a different meaning, but both amazing all the same.
Today, I typed “The end” on my fifth novel, and my heart is so overcome with emotions I feel numb. Numb because this feels surreal, and numb because after all this time I don’t know if I’m ready to part with it.
This book was hard and I don’t know why. The content isn’t dark or sad, but I poured myself into it in a way I didn’t with the others, and I found myself loving the characters and the setting so much more. My only hope is that one day you’ll read the love between the lines and understand, too.
Elle, Megan, and Staci have all sent me huge congratulations, and my husband and boys brought up champagne to toast (yes, we let them have champagne, and both scrunched up their faces and handed back their glass lol). With each one of these my eyes filled, because being proud of myself is one thing…but receiving it from them is another. They say it takes a village to raise kids, well it also takes a village to write a book. Thank you to everyone who’s helped me over the last year. The love and support has meant more than I could ever say.
No, I’m not ready to give the details of it yet. And no, I don’t know when it’s going to publish, but as soon as I do you’ll be the first to know. In the meantime, know my next book is finished and one day hopefully soon it’s coming…
Cheers!
